Blackened alloy armor

I was wondering how hard is it to hunt for blackened alloy armor. I have a lvl 20 paladin and a lvl 19 bard friend. What mobs and what lvl drop it and are they hard to get too? Does it drop often? How long to get a visable set?

I think the mobs that drop it are anywhere from low to high 20's. There are a lot of them, though, so good pulling and CC will be important. However, as I understand it, the itemization is currently in need of a patch, because it's only a rare spawn off the non-named mobs. The named mobs rarely, if ever, drop it. If you really want the best shot at getting some, you might want to wait until after the next patch when the itemization is fixed.

I have killed in there a LOT with my enchanter, and I have not seen alloy legs or chest drop. I have seen the coif, bracers, and sleeves, but I don't think I have seen the boots. I've seen iron versions of everything drop, but the alloy is much rarer.

I didnt know the blackened iron still drops. So you can get a full set of blackened iron pretty fast but not blackened alloy, correct? Is it any mob in th zone that drops them? I dont care if i get ironed or alloy.

Been a while, but I solo'd down there for shits n giggles on a 32ish monk with next-to-no gear and ended up with a full set in a few hours (blackened iron mostly), so a full group of low to mid twenties should be able to do it just fine. IIRC the pieces mostly dropped off of the named mobs and the higher level ones near the king's room. They're all in the mid to high twenties and the rooms have 6-8 mobs in them so split pulls and/or good CC would be very helpful unless you have a higher level friend to help.

Thanks everyone for the help. I have one more question. Does the blackened IRON coif have a graphic or does it not. I have read some conflicting info about this. Some say it does not so it looks like you're not wearing anything while others say it does and it apears as black chain mail. Some say that the IRON coif doesnt show but the ALLOY coif does show. Can anyone verifiy this please?

This isn't currently accurate. The named mobs typically drop nothing right now, based on my having killed several dozen of them, although that should be fixed in the next patch.

I have an alloy coif, and it shows as black chain mail. I don't have an iron coif so I am not sure about that one.

Thank you for that info, now we just need someone with the blackened IRON coif to chime in on its appearance.

Its also black chain mail, blackened alloy/iron looks the same.

It's all just black banded looking armor. The Alloy was added in the revamp and has slightly more AC and lower weight making it at least somewhat usable. The blackened iron has lower AC than banded and weighs more.

Either way both sets outside of the helm are pretty useless so if you are just going for the looks then it doesn't matter either way.
