New player LFG and need some suggestions.

Hey guys!

I played this game from 1999-2001 and decided to get back into it again. I was thinking about playing a wizard because wizard and warrior were the two classes I played back in the day (only got to level 32) so I'd be more familiar with everything. Are wizards desired at all right now other than for their teleport spells? I'd like to try and fill a server gap for lower level players if possible.

Also, I wanted to ask the veterans - is there an ideal race/God/point distribution setup for Wizards or does it not really matter?
