Default 1017 error - fixed

It was indeed the overclocking of my ADM 8350 fx that was causing the 1017 error. I was OC'd to 4500 mhz and scaled down to 4200, game loaded in without issue. Thanks to the community and developers for all the information I found.

Also just to be precise here, I attempted to move up to 4300 Mhz and got the error again, so the cap seems to be 4200 Mhz.

Same thing for me, before I had a 8350 stocked at 4.0GHz and then I upgraded to the 9370 at 4.4 stock and EQ quit working. I then used AMD overdrive software to easily underlock it to 4.2 and am able to launch EQ now.

I figure using AMD overdrive would be easier to underclock it so then when I am done playing EQ I can easily go back to my default clock.

2018 - I have spent about 24 hours trying to figure this 1017 out and have seen several people mention underclocking to get get their fix... I couldnt believe this to be the actual issue... HOWEVER.. after lowering my CPU under 4200... I can confirm that this did indeed work!
