![]() Ok will give you the system information, explain the problem and then let you know what I have done so far to try to fix the problem. Hopefully someone has a suggestion.....
System Information: Code:
PC Wizard 2010 Version 1.961 ---------------------------------- Owner: Microsoft Organisation: Microsoft User: ****** Computer Name: ******* Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium Home Edition Media Center 6.01.7601 Service Pack 1 Report Date: Thursday 24 February 2011at 20:10 ------------------------------------------ <<< System Summary >>> > Platform : Intel Calpella > Mainboard : Dell 0G62V9 > Chipset : Intel HM57 > Processor : Intel Core i3 370M @ 2400MHz > Physical Memory : 4096MB (2 x 2048 DDR3-SDRAM ) > Video Card : ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 > Hard Disk : Western Digital WD5000BEVT-75A0RT0 (500GB) > DVD-Rom Drive : PLDS DVD+-RW DS-8A5SH > Monitor Type : Nissei Sangyo No Monitor - > Monitor Type : NPFT8156AT - 15 inches > Network Card : Broadcom BCM4313 802.11b/g LP-PHY > Operating System : Windows 7 Home Premium Home Edition Media Center 6.01.7601 Service Pack 1 (64-bit) > DirectX : Version 11.00 > Windows Performance Index : 5.7 on 7.9 ------------------------------------------- ***** End of report ***** - Acts like there are pixels that glitch, randomly flicker. Usualy along edges of things - It isn't the Dual or Quad glitch Here is a picture of it: [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] This is what I have done so far: - Installed the latest Video Driver - Installed DirectX End User (for the prev ver of DirX instead of just DirX 11) - Checked to see if it was a CPU or GPU heating prob (the new laptop has no problems running the game as far as resource wise.. taking very little of the CPU and GPU to run it according to the performance monitor) PC Wizzard shows the CPU and GPU running as follows while running the game: While Running EQ ----------------- *CPU* Core 1 & 2 = Average Temp is 57C (Task manager shows only Average 5% CPU being used) *GPU* Average Temp 69C Both hold pritty steady while running EQ When not running EQ --------------------------- *CPU* Core 1 & 2 Average Temp 47C *GPU* Average Temp 56C Again both hold pritty steady at these temps - Disabled Intel Speedstep and tested it - Tried the Compatability Mode and get greeted with errors (after research I read that the new Intel Chips doesn't support and you get errors when you try to use compatability mode) - Used this in the Shortcut to the program: Code:
C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /C start /AFFINITY 2 C:\Project1999\eqgame.exe patchme Not sure what else I can possibly do to correct this problem on my wifes Laptop which is brand new.... HELP!!! Any suggestions? ( on how to fix the issue besides slaming it against the wall [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] ) Thanks

![]() uhm im not ingame atm so i cant check what it was called
but i had the same problem when it was raining in some zones. when you go into the options menu and into the box where you change your resolution, try disabling the Shaders (i think there are 3?) worked for me to quote myself from another thread: Quote:

![]() I went under Options/Display/Advanced and turned all of them off. Then I zoned *says some things won't take affect till you zone*
Will try again but actualy log out and log back in after I change.. will try and edit this post in a min to let you know if it worked. ***UPDATE*** Ok, looks like I might have had to log out and log back in when I change those 3 settings. Once I logged back in after turning the picel shaders off and camping completely out, Water looked plain (oh well) but after running around for 5 mins or so.. zoning in to another zone and running around for a little bit.. looking all around to try to make it happen.. I didn't see the same glitches I had before. NOW THOUGH... I'm not letting my guard down just yet. At times it does it alot.. sometimes it does it very little.. almost making me think I had fixed it before ROFLMAO!!!... but I will keep an eye out and post more if it does it again.. this is a GREAT fix for laptops if this works.
