![]() ...don't.
With that out of the way, this is not going to be a walk-through, the wiki does just fine for that, just observations I made and things I learned while doing the shackle quests as a human monk. I did all the quests as a lv 52 agnostic human monk from Qeynos. I had average gear (pantherskin, IFS, AC, RotLC) no fungi or epic or anything. Doing the bone chip quests for faction is pretty straight forward. Buy them, don't try and get them yourself. No matter how fast you can clear Kurns, its not as fast as someone walking up and selling you three backpacks full in one go. I did not count my turn ins, you can do the math if you're that worried but it was roughly 150 stacks to get not KoS and another 150 to be able to do the quests. You need Amiable, not Indifferent, to do the quests. Once you get Amiable with SwiftTails I recommend turning in another few backpacks of chips (more on this later). The first thing I would get is the foraged items you need for the Bronze shackle. They can be a bit of a bugger so start looking right away. I had the most luck /ooc in their respective zones with some very nice druids (and one who charged a lot). The first few shackles are easy and straight forward. You have to MQ Stone (and maybe Rock) so I just made a lv 1 iksar monk and did it that way. The fingered skeleton spawns in the hallway in front of the room to the right of 3 on the map. Sarnak Courier seems to be almost perma camped in LoIO, if you ask nicely you can grab a hand easy. The dancing skeleton would NOT give me the container for left hand 1 of the Rock quest. He conned indiff to me. I had to run my lv 1 out to TD and get it and run back to cabilis to MQ it. However on my way to turn in the Bronze quest I tried again and he DID give it to me. This made me think I just did not have enough SwiftTail faction the first time, hence adding in a few extra bag of chips before you start. Dalnir was by far the longest and most annoying part of all the quests. I did the pop in room 4 of the third level. He is the one in the corner and spawns every 23 min, the other two spawns in the room seem to be about 12 min and then they wander. It took me the better part of the day to get it to drop. Sometimes I would camp other named on the level, sometimes play an alt in between. Droga I had never been to before and went in a bit unprepared. Almost everything was green to me at 52, but a lot were XP giving high greens. Casters abound so bring lots of bandages and a good 2HB because everyone and their brother has a dmg shield on. Quite a bit of SK's also, so be prepared for harm touches now and again. I had no luck camping for keys (I tried like 3 spawn rotations) before I figured out (ie read) you can easily strafe right through the bars. This camp was not as bad, the mob spawns solo every twenty min, and I had the second key in a handful of spawns. I only had to kill three crazed iksars (and one depop on the timer) before the final quest giver appeared. (edit) The final quest giver conned Indifferent to me, however he went through all the dialogue with no problems and I was able to get my bracer. I would definitely go through the dialogue before turning in (and not blaming me if it gets eaten). So I hope that helps anyone doing this quest as the few tidbits are things I either could not find online, or were incorrect. | ||
