![]() Greetings everyone! You may or may not recognize my username but for those who don't - I am the guy who owns almarsguides.com and writes a lot of the guides for fellow Everquesters.
Recently I have come back to EQ in full swing and I have been pumping out guides pretty heavily. At some point in the last few weeks it occured to me that I could write some guides for P99 as well (or guides that would be relevant for any future TLPs during Velious as well as P99). That brings me to this post. As people who play on P99 I was curious if you would be able to tell me what guides it is you'd like to see most and if you find the excessive use of maps to be helpful. To give you an idea of what I have been working on for P99 here is my completed Velious Leveling Guide with my recently finished Thurgadin Class Armor Guide. http://www.almarsguides.com/eq/quest...hurgadinArmor/ http://www.almarsguides.com/eq/leveling/Velious/ Now, what I mean about the excessive use of maps - I know P99 doesn't have access to maps which I think of as a really big deal. So I have been making guides (that I think) P99ers would find really useful, which are these: http://www.almarsguides.com/eq/level...lis/ZoneIn.cfm http://www.almarsguides.com/eq/level...din/ZoneIn.cfm http://www.almarsguides.com/eq/level...rns/ZoneIn.cfm I'm very curious if my assumption is right and if these guides would be useful to P99 players or if you all basically know the world of Norrath so well that you don't even need maps if you had them. As someone who doesn't play on your server I am quite ignorant to your needs and wants. Anyway, this is all I have for right now and I greatly appreciate you taking the time to read this post & check out my guides. I'm working on much... much more and any feedback from this community on how to make guides that are more useful for you all would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I'm pretty sure I drew on your guides, along with lots of other resources, to compile the Per-Level/Treasure Hunting "guides" (which are really more collections of spots than actual guides). Thanks for all of your effort as a guide-writer; as a fellow guide-writer I know how much work they require. P.S. You should try creating a character here. It's a whole lot more fun than a MMOG created in 1999 has any right to be and ... we have cookies!

To give you an example the wiki barely shares any information AT ALL about Kael Drakkel, one of the main Velious endgame zones as I am sure many of you are aware. It doesn't say what nameds are there, what they drop, where they spawn or anything like that at all. I'm going to be putting up a guide that covers basically everything that guide doesn't later this weekend or before that. Also as someone who had never personally experienced the end game of Classic - Velious prior to the Lockjaw/Ragefire TLPs - I found the information the wiki had on Kael armor and Skyshrine armor to be really confusing and needing a total rewrite (which is why I started with those guides). It explains to you the basics of the armor but it doesn't really go indepth about how to get it or how to raise the reputations you need to turn in the armor pieces. I didn't entirely realize that Skyshrine armor was such a pain in the ass to get until I had already grinded all of ToV with my box team and then I realized that i would effectively have to grind kael for weeks to just turn in the pieces of armor I farmed. Obviously a grevious oversight on my part and my own ignorance is mostly to blame but that's the point too; the guide(s) were very unclear on things like this. I wouldn't mind creating "new" content but those of you on these servers would have to tell me what the P99 wiki is missing - you'd all know best which is what I made this post for! The first poster said he doubts many people would google how to reach Thurgadin which is basically the only original idea I came up with that P99ers might want, maps on how to get places since your server has no maps. The best I can do in the mean time is rewrite guides that are inaccurate/have holes in them that I have found. Like the velious armor guides and Kael Drakkel's zone guide.

As per your request for guide info, the community has largely been demanding more guides on ideal leveling guides for halflings. We also need guides on how to defeat the Neriak threat to our east. I am the sole funder of the Rivervale Scholarship for Young Hobbits, which seeks to give promising Young Hobbits a helping hand as they make their way out into the world. A guide on how to win this scholarship would be most useful. Finally, a guide detailing the complicated and important factions WITHIN rivervale will be of crucial importance to the development of this server community.

Would be cool if you tried the server out it's really almost a whole different game from the present day EQ Live. You'd be amazed how fun it is here.

I also avoid the "true box" or any servers that doesn't allow multiboxing seeing as I am a boxer at heart. All that aside though, I still would like to add information to my website for players on P99 and people that play during this era. I'm having much more fun writing and researching the guides than I did playing during Velious =D

![]() Some p99 players are fairly normal, they know the game decently but still look at the wiki on the regular
Then there is the p99 players that could get thru a zone while their character is blind without any issues

![]() @OP The Project 1999 wiki is pretty helpful and does contains lots of guides already. That being said, information is key and if you were to add your guides to the wiki that'd be stellar. Welcome to Project 1999.
To touch on Swish's post, Project 1999 is entirely different from Daybreak TLP's and so your guides may not be relevant to the Project 1999 community unless you were to roll a toon here and see what it's like. If you go that route, let me know and I'll toss you some buffs and coin P.S. really like your site! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
