Corroded Plate Vambraces MQ?

I got this on my mage, how do I MQ this for my bard on same account? Requires the turn in of the item and three Flawed Emeralds. Do I have the gems on my bard, have both at the quest guy, hand in the Corroded Vambs, log off mage, log in bard and then hand in the gems before someone comes along? Both the corroded item and the bard item are no drop which means no trade right?
