Default Returning Players Questions – SK /Guild

Hi everybody

I’m another returning player and would like to bother you with some questions.

Back in 1999 I played a Druid to lvl 50 in Velious and after the launch of SoL a Ranger till about 53. I Never made it to raiding and much other end game content. My knowledge about the game world has become quite rusty and I feel like a total noob again.

I always wanted to play a SK back then. So this is what I’m planning to make up for now. I did quite a lot of reading so far and I got to the conclusion that having a SK as your first toon might be a tough choice. because of its gear dependency. What’s your opinion on this?

I also thought about going for a Necro first so I could farm some plat first to equip my SK later. But what’s the point in playing a class other than the one you’d choose in the firt place.

With the launch of Kunark I’m tempted to start an Iksar but the Hybrid + Class Penalty of 68% seems to be huge. Alternatively I’d choose Dark Elf because of the cool looks. Will I miss out any SK essential quests or cool stuff by choosing one or the other race?

And finally: I’d really like to join a guild for grouping and socializing and maybe getting some help now and then. Any newbie friendly guilds out there?

Cheers
KL
