![]() Hello,
What is the easiest way to obtain level 8 enchanter spell from Highkeep? Just get a port and invis? Do people sell them over near felwithe ever?

![]() Trust the wiki.
If it says only sells at highkeep, thats it. If you're brand new and have no funds, either beg for a port or just go without and buy only your critical spells.

![]() Be aware that most of the enc pet spells from 8-49 are only sold in HHK, so you might want to buy both the level 8 and 12 spells when you get there.
That being said, I don't think I bought an enc pet after the level 12 spell until level 55. I have not even used the level 55 pet once and I've been 60 since May, but I plan to use it for factioning in the future!

Generally also, remember you get charm at level 12... it takes some getting used to but once you can charm pets (and break it, then dispose of them for XP) you won't want your uncontrollable summoned pet very often ^^

![]() Level 12 is still too low to use charm effectively. Level 8 and 12 pets are still relatively OP for their levels. You can use them to exp efficiently till level 16, after which you can go buy Breeze spell and finally learn to charm. Much easier at level 16 than at 12.
Personally I went to Erud's Crossing and soloed wisps from level 12 to 16 using level 12 pet. It was relatively easy (just pull carefully to avoid adds!).

![]() I had breaks at level 12. My red enchanter back in 2012 had no items and yes I had charm breaks quite a bit...but the breaks make you better at dealing with breaks.
12 isn't too soon to start, and whether its beetles in Unrest or low end frogs/crocs in Upper Guk the dps is a lot quicker...plus if you're soloing you dont have to worry about the pet taking XP if you break it before the target mob dies.

![]() To be perfectly honest, I leveled my enchanter solo at roughly the same pace as a Necromancer from 1 to 20 using animation pets instead of charming. The game's math on what a blue con is in terms of resists vs your current level from level 12 to 16 drove me nuts. Level 20 was the breaking point as mobs hit harder at that stage and I had more of a buffer of mob level in comparison with myself for selecting charm targets.
If folks want to charm earlier, more power to them and I'm not saying they're doing it wrong. I'm just glad the class has options available to keep things comfortable for the player.

![]() With sow and enough room charming at lvl 12 is doable. I tried once with about 120 CHA and almost went crazy. My second attempt at near 200 CHA was way smoother.
SOW makes life easy. Pick like N.Ro with weak spiders or beetles. Horrible ZEM but it's easy-mode.
