I feel a strong itch to make a Warrior but part of me believes that if I'm gonna make a tanking alt purely for fun it should be a Shadow Knight instead.
I hear that Warriors are so boring/featureless compared to other classes that unless they're in a group or twinked up the ass they're basically the class equivalent of a helpless quadriplegic desperately rolling their way around until they find a healer to cling onto and I know I'm a bit too antisocial to constantly live in groups. That added to the fact that I'm used to playing classes that have levitation/invis/bind etc. to quickly cross Norrath means the transition to a class that would have to beg for SoWs and binds every two hours or cry in EC for help crossing Dagnor sounds pretty bleak. A little tumor in the back of my head still whispers that dual wielding big ass weapons would be worth it though and I try to justify to myself that people play warrior because it outmatches other tanks when it comes to numbers rather than having flashy spells. I know nothing beats a raid warrior's outright broken tanking disciplines but I want to make it clear that I'm never getting this guy to 60 or probably even 40. So what do you guys think? Is a warrior's group performance worth the mind numbing chore of having to level one untwinked or should I just roll an SK like every other non-raid tank?

There really is no point to playing a warrior except for being able to wear plate and not have a EXP penalty. SK, Pal, and Monk are going to tank better than warrior Pre Raiding. Come to think of it, Mage and necro pets are going to tank better than Warrior. I look at it this way, a level 39 mage pet has ~1300 HPs, regens at 30HP / Tick, and hits for ~36 damage. Those stats alone are basically better than any warrior of similar level, Pre Kunark. When you add to that, the fact that the mage can cast another pet for only 200 mana, it becomes very apparent why warriors are without doubt the most pathetic class to ever grace classic EQ. And before anyone chimes in about disciplines and high DPS blah blah - Most warriors never even get there, not even close. It takes a highly disciplined mega incel mouthbreather to obtain warrior stardom, and even then they still die to soloing a blue mob. TLDR? warrior has 0 utility, choose another class

I don't want links, but I wouldn't mind a run down of what piece of Warrior only gear does each thing. Weapon procs I think I know, and maybe half the clicks, but Warriors get a port clicky? A Warrior only levitate? Not attempting to call you out, and I imagine most if not all of that involves gear that other classes can also use, I'm just genuinely curious.

I wouldn’t play a warrior on Blue, it’d be painful trying to tank for nothing but twinks.
Green is a month away though.

warriors are not very fun without a fungi and an 8th+ Coldain ring
