Exclamation Game running at LUDICROUS SPEED!

Hello I'm Vek!

So after seeing that the new P1999 "Green" server just lit up on everyone's radars once it was released on the 25th i decided to dust off an old copy of EQ and after installation and copying of the provided patch I proceeded to launch the game with zero issues but one tinny tiny issue..

Everything is going LUDICROUS SPEED!!!! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.][You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

It's like speed hacks are like stuck on maximum and its very prevalent in-game.

I have attempted to isolate the issue to the CPU i am using (FX 8350) which is an 8 core processes and i have manually set the CPU to run off just 2 cores but that did not solve the issue.

from my understanding of other posts i have gathered that perhaps it has something to do with clock speeds. I'm unsure as to whether this is a proper fix and i am seeking guidance.

Thanks,

-Vek

Lightbulb Underclocking works

I have underclocked my CPU to a multiplier of 10 and thus achieved a max clock speed of 2Ghz and it seems to have eliminated the super speed that was experienced.

As this is a very interesting fix with a kind of verbose manner where i'd manually need to change my clock speed in the BIOS to effectively play the game each time i wanna play, does anyone have an alternate fix so i can negate the need to change the clock speed?

Have you tried the frame rate limiter in the game options?

try changing your CPU multiplier to 1 less than it's currently set to... should fix it [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
