Default Melee Damage Cap on Green

Does anyone know if there are per-class damage caps on Green as shown on the P99 wiki?

http://wiki.project1999.com/Game_Mec...bat_and_Damage

I see that Monday, Feb 13th 2017 introduced per-class limits for damage. Previously before this patch there was limits of the following for ALL classes:

levels 1-9 - damage cap is 20
levels 10-19 - damage cap is 28
Levels 20-29 - damage cap is 60
30+ - lifted, can do 2x weapon damage or more based on class

Is the change to per-class weapon damage included with Green or is it like it was previously before Feb 2017?

I play a shaman on Green and was curious if it was worth doing a quest like the Gatorsmash Maul on this server pre-level 40 for priest classes.

If the per-class limits are true for priests. The Gatorsmash Maul will not be a true 30dmg/70del weapon until level 40+ instead of level 30+.

I'll probably still do the quest but if it's only a "20dmg/70delay" weapon until level 40 I'll hold off on prioritizing it.

Thanks,
Zulgok

The wiki is correct. We had a thread about this within the last week [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Thanks for the response Tecmos. I thought I had seen something about it but couldn't find it via search.

Do you have a link to the forum post so I can read up on it?

Thanks,
Zulgok

The game doesn't cap final damage dealt, but effective weapon damage. This is why with sufficient STR/ATK buffs a player can hit for more than the "capped" value. As a melee 1-9 you're capped to the equivalent of a 10 damage weapon. During the teens you're capped to 14 damage, and during the 20's it's capped to 30. Priest types have slightly lower caps, such as during the teens they're capped to the equivalent of a 12 damage weapon as opposed to the 14 of melee types.

Players run into these caps even on green. If a low-level Paladin buys a 11/43 vendor-bought Claymore, it counts as 10/43 until level 10. If that same Paladin obtains a Deepwater Harpoon during the teens, it counts as 14/40 until level 20, at which point he gets the full 18/40 out of it. There aren't a lot of 30+ damage weapons out there in this era for the levels 20-30 cap to come into play very often.

Yep, that's how I understand it Danth. I hadn't played since 2017 so I just wanted clarification on it.

Looks like it really just hurts shamans in those 20-40 levels and then kills things like Rod of Annihilation.

Thanks,
Zulgok
