My fps drops shortly after logging in

Hey all,

I stay pretty much at 60 fps, it has been that way ever since I started playing Project 1999. Recently though, for some reason, my fps drops shortly after logging in. I'll be running around not doing anything particularly special, and then about 10 or so minutes later, my fps will drop significantly, below 30. I'm not sure where this is coming from, no changes to the graphics in the game make any difference at all. I think it might have to do with recently when I try to quit the game, sometimes I'll camp out to the character select screen, but EQ window will go black and an error message pops up "EverQuest has detected that your client may have crashed."

These issues just started happening recently and I'm confused as to why, I am wondering if I just need to do a fresh install.

If you haven't already - set compatibility on eqgame.exe to xp sp2 or sp3 Should at least help with crashing on camp.
