Unable to Log In
Hi, I'm new to Project 99, but am BEYOND excited to start! in fact I started playing EQ in 1999, i remember my first day playing! Any whozle... I can't log in. I did everything in the first 5 steps, I get to the "server select", I select project 99 server, and it game me an error about needing to patch. I surged thru the forums and saw Duxa's install helper program, so i ran that. This time when logging in, it gave me a critical error and said EQ had to be shut down. I've exhausted all of my options, so I decided to start this thread. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, as I'm more than looking forward to playing this amazing game again.
Side note... I logged into my necromancer after not playing since just after gates of discord came out, and ran around wondering what the hell had happened tot his fantastic world.... just not the same anymore.. | ||

Now it is giving me the patching error again, just simply saying
"Cannot login to the everquest server. You may need to rerun the update patch. Repeatedly seeing this message indicates a loss of connectivity to the Patch Server. This is usually temporary." | ||

OK, so... NOW it isn't giving me the patch error anymore.. it goes all the way thru right up until the Splash screen is supposed to show with the crazy tips and showing that it's loading, then I get a critical error and it crashes... then I can't try to log in again for about a minute otherwise I get the "ip being used" error. grrrr =( i wanna plaaaaaaay, haha

maybe post some system specs and hopefully someone can help you. also maybe screenshot the error.

currently running windows XP on an AMD athlon 64 X2 dual Core Processor 6400+ 3.21GHZ, 2.00 GB Ram, with an Nvidia Gefoce 9800 GTX+.

are you able to log into any other servers besides Project 1999? Have you tried running your client in Windown 98 compatibility mode?

Doesn't let me log in to any server. I get the music as if it's loading and then it crashes. How do I run it in 98 compatibility mode?
