Deleted items along with PoH/Temple patch?

In specific the Icy Greaves that two of my toons were wearing for looks alone. I know that they're also for the bard temple legs, but they still exist after the changes to my knowledge. So why delete all the old existing ones? I had no intentions of questing them and now my boys are stuck in their undies. Did they change in stats, as on the wiki it looks like they're still wearable? Also I now imagine that they'll be camped a lot more now...
