Default UI Issues

HI, just starting back up after years of not playing

1. I cannot get anything but the Velious UI to load. I have tried Duxa and ProjectGreen with no luck
2. DoT damage is not showing up in the chat box. I get the hit but no ticks. I looked at the filters and spell non melee is check. What am I missing?

Any help will be appreciated

If you are playing on Green, the default UI is the only one available and custom UIs are disabled there. You can fix it so its no longer transparent by right clicking windows for options and selecting:

Window > Background > Texture (This will turn it white)
Window > Background > Tint Color (Can pick Black or any other reasonable color)

There is no way to display DoT damage. That feature wasnt added until after Planes of Power. It was available on blue for a long time but it has since been fixed/removed

Thanks Kav!

I did not know DoT damage wasn't added until PoP which I did not play. Amazing what an old mind thinks it remembers

Back with more UI issues on green. Sorry

I can move all windows in the UI except chat. It is unlocked but the 4 sided arrow does not show. If I create more chat windows, they just overlap.

You might need to delete/move/backup your character's UI file to reset it 'UI_soandso_P1999Green.ini'. There might be an in game command to do this but I don't remember so this is all I can think of. Doing this should fully reset all the game UI elements to their default settings colors and positions.

Upon further tinkering you don't even need to delete or move that UI file. If you edit it and delete the [MainChat] block it should reset just the main chat and keep all of your other UI positions so you don't lose any of your hard work organizing your UI. Also check to see if 'Locked' is some how stubbornly set to true if you want to try to keep your chat settings intact as well.

example:
Code:
[Main]
UISkin=velious
AtlasSkin=Default
[MainChat]
INIVersion=1
XPos1024x768=91
YPos1024x768=521
Width1024x768=683
Height1024x768=250
BGTint.red=255
BGTint.green=255
BGTint.blue=255
BGType=1
Fades=true
Delay=2000
Duration=500
Alpha=255
FadeToAlpha=255
Locked=false <---
[ChatWindow]
INIVersion=1
...
