It's in your eqclient.ini file.

Change:

Shadows=0
to
Shadows=1

If it's not in your EQ directory that means you probably installed EQ to the default location under "Program Files". That's considered a "protected" folder by Windows so the EQ client isn't able to write changes to files (unless you run EQ as admin). When this is the case, the client will instead write to your user temp folder. Look for an EverQuest folder (possibly under Sony?) in C:\Users\<your windows user name>\AppData\. Note that the AppData folder is hidden, so either change your view settings to show hidden files, or just type the path in the file explorer bar and it'll open it.

Alternatively, copy your EQ install somewhere outside of Program Files (like c:\games or whatever) and then update your shortcut to launch titanium with the new path. The first time you run EQ after moving it, it will generate a default eqclient.ini and then changes made within the game should remain permanent (like your /shadows on command).

Which method did you do? Appdata or moving your install?

Try enabling shadows from the Alt+O display options in-game instead.

tried moving the install to just the C drive alone - ... also...after ALT+O i see no options on the in game options that would allow me to turn them on or off - i am using the titanium client.

Are you camping out normally? Does the client crash when you camp? I just logged in, did /shadows on, and camped out and my ini now shows Shadows=1 (where it was 0 before).

They made several changes to force some options - I also do not see the Shadows option in Alt+O. It just seems odd to me that they'd remove the button but not disable the command if they wanted to force shadows off.

There's a ton you can activate in SIDL/XML, but it feels like cheating.. Like having more than 6 hotbars on Green server..

Kinda honestly just sounds like the client is reading the wrong eqclient.ini or something, maybe there is two? I dunno.

Yes i am camping out regularly after enabling it and also i do see it showing as "1" by shadows in the eqclient.ini file yet when i log in again it is turned off again and i have to manually turn it back on... i know this is a tiny simple thing but id like them to just stay on if possible. Is it staying on for you when you log back in or do you have to reset also ?
