Default Running P99 in a VirtualBox (WinXPSP3)

I'm trying to run P99 in VirtualBox with the built in Guest Additions but am getting "No 3d devices found".

Has anyone else got P99 to work in VirtualBox?

The game requires 3d acceleration to run. You should see a checkbox under your vm settings to "enable 3d acceleration". I use vmware workstation but here's the section from the virtualbox manual on how to enable it (note that it must be manually enabled):
