They would add an optional tag players could display so others could see their religion. Then guilds would form based on religion, and missionaries would be sent out to try and bring more into the fold. A hierarchy would be established, with members paying tithes to their religion so that the higher-ups could redistribute the wealth as they see fit.

i wish we could mod EQ

so someone could go around and turn everyone in the game to IRL cultists, and cult cities, and its like war of the cults world.
