Miscellaneous: Lootable Morning Dew OOE

Morning Dew should not be dropping off mobs. It seems to have been added to loottables in early Planes of Power era. During P99's timeline, Morning Dew should be foragable and ground-spawn only.

Morning Dew a drop off of mobs

I did a quick search in the smithing forum and saw nothing mentioned there, but if this is repeat info, please disregard.

A guildie bud of mine happened to give me a present of a morning dew tonight. I asked where he got it, being he is an ogre SK. He surprised me by telling me it dropped off of a fairy. I neglected to ask which zone, which I will follow up on. But he is a trustworthy fellow, so I believe him.

If this hasn't been posted already, this is great news for the High Elf smiths in particular, who need the dew for cultural stuff I believe. I don't know who else it might help, if anyone, so I stuck it here instead of the smithing forum.

While I believe my friend, of course some of you will want additional confirmations, so if anyone else finds the morning dew off of some mobs, please share.

Tonight a fellow Tradeskiller informed me that, while hunting Brownies in LFay, he looted 10 Morning Dew.

Needless to say, I was flabbergasted.

Of course, I'm not the right class to hunt them... :\

I'll make it personal

Me and some guildies went to the brownie village in LFaydark last night (10/26/02) and got 2 Morning Dews from one round of kills (which is all I could stay for). So I can personally attest that the brownies we killed had them.

Since I don't think you can hand items to NPC's so they show up in loot now, I figure they're probably part of the loot table now...

The brownie guards definitely have them in their loot tables, and are not picking up ground spawns. For one thing, the guards are static and don't move around, and I've never seen a morning dew on the ground at the brownie fort. Plus I've gotten a few in a row occasionally while killing them (I love Lesser Fay) so even if there had been a ground spawn right by the guard I'm sure there were not several ground spawns, and so quickly.

Dew off faeries

I can personally attest that morning dew does drop off faeries in Lfay. I am bound there now and start off each EQ session by pulling the entire camp and Uphevaling them. Great fun =) The drop rate isnt great, I usually get only one dew per massacre (20-30 faeries I would guess), but I know my trade buddies addicted to morning dew can use everyone they can get.

I tend to get more in LFay than I do in GFay. If you are a baker, you can just go farm pixies and brownies, and forage while you're doing that.

The thread makes no mention of looting Morning Dew from mobs. The above comment in particular notes killing the pixies and brownies (for baking ingredients) that were later reported to drop it.

Per this comment, foragable Morning Dew is flagged for Sept2000. This comment notes that the ground spawns have been flagged for Velious. It appears the ground spawns should be set for Sept2000 as well.

I found morning dew. Right after the patch 9/19. I cannot forage, wrong profession and race, but I noticed a bright green spot on the ground. I clicked on it and found that I had picked up morning dew. I was following the path throught Lesser Faydark, just before the fork in the road to either Steamfont or into the forest. I did not know what it was so did not note the time or anything.

It happened today. I was in Lesser Faydark and I foraged a morning dew. First time ever. 9/20. I am a 32nd ranger, and have my foraging almost maxed. It was between 3a-4a game time. It looks like a wine skin. Hope this helps
