![]() Hey all,
Just started playing EQ this weekend, I am new to the Green server. I played a Monk on blue for a very short time maybe 5 years ago or more. It was an ok experience, I mean mostly boring due to everyone just doing their own solo thing while twinked. I couldn't recover that account so I started a fresh one on August 29. I originally had no intentions of playing EQ, wasn't even on my radar. I was excited to get started on Path of Exile 2, but I had started feeling ill the night before and after a doctor's visit on Friday I tested positive for Covid. When I wasn't dead in bed with 100-102 fever. I was up on my computer trying to play PoE2. But just the intensity of the game the gemming, crazy build guides, etc. It gave me a headache. So I stopped and went to bed to get some rest. Woke up later that evening feeling a little better but deciding I needed a game where at first I did not need to invest so heavily into my brain, being sick like this made me feel undead as it is. I turned my head to my second monitor, a video of PoE2 had ended and on the recommended videos I saw a EverQuest video... Clicked on it, it was a great video by someone named RektYou. Back in 2000 my main was an Enchanter, originally I had a Wizard named Edien Blazingheart on the Terris-Thule server. I picked up EverQuest maybe three months before the release of The Ruins of Kunark. The YouTuber was showcasing an Enchanter charming strategy. That's all it took to convince me to load up EQ. I just dinged level 13 last night, forgot how painful it is not to be able to afford spells! But so far this enchanter has been fun, I did group once on Orc hill with a mage and another chanty. Now with my new charm spell in my pocket, I believe my real journey is just now beginning. I am such a newb that when I created my toon Ceeriosa HE Enchanter, I grabbed my note took it to my guild master, turned it in. He had a robe to give me. Except it was still in the turn-in box... I hit the Give button and lost my robe lol. Thankfully a nice Necro killing my fellow HE guards gifted me a ring they dropped, worth a few plat. Bought me a nice Sr Apprentice Robe. Sorry for the long intro, I guess I am just pretty happy so far with the game regardless of the struggles. In a big way, it truly does feel like 25 years ago. PS thanks to all those who spare a buff to lowbies like me with cloth gear. Ceeriosa HE Enchanter.

![]() Some of us have been on the server(s) for a long time, so yes you're going to run into a lot of the twinks doing their own thing.
That said - very rarely have I ever had a twink soloing not be willing to let me join them, and on my alt I am leveling up that's quite geared I've always let anyone join me that wanted to unless I was leaving asap. Smart to go Enchanter, quite literally one of the best self-sustaining classes all the way to the end if you cannot group but also one of the best members of a duo/group with almost all combinations working well in creative ways. In my experience, don't expect to find static groups this late in the game. Get 'em when you can. However, I would 100% look for a solid person or two that you see leveling a lot or run into that shares your playtime. It isn't hard, if you look, to find 1-2 people to solidly group with. Once you hit 50+, you can pretty much group with anyone 51-60 so you don't need to worry about anyone out leveling you. Have fun! Quote:
