NPC Spawn Issue: Feb2000 - The Widowmistress

After the last patch a new mob appeared in Najena named the: Widowmistress. She spawns down by the giant black widow spiders. I have killed her several times. She drops the Stilleto of the Bloodclaw (probably instead of Drelzna now) and she drops an item called Widowmistress Hair: Lore Item.

Anyone know what it is for?

BTW: I get exp for killing her at lvl 50 so I believe she is 39-42 lvl. She duel wields and hits hard.

Also new to the area is a Widow Mistress, who drops the Stiletto of the Blood Claw.

Despite the suggestion otherwise, it appears Drelzna continued to drop the Stiletto after the addition of The Widowmistress.

While I never had her Harmtouch, the Stiletto did proc for her several times, so that may have been why you got it twice.

A guildmate and I went in here, I took her out at level 39, kill the center Necro who's her PH and just wait. When she pops, take a couple of steps forward (hopefully you're smart and are waiting in the little hall), she'll run forward and attack you.

She seemed to drop that earring every time, and we got 2 Stiletto's, but no spear.

She didn't seem to hit very hard, but that Bloodclaw proc hurt a little.

A torn Note ??

She dropped a Torn Note for me as well as the dagger, but I can't find anything on it. Not on allakhazam anyway. its No drop and Lore, so its gotta be for a quest, can't read it so its not gnome, dwarf, halfling, or common. Any one got any ideas??

Did anything spawn at her location prior to Widowmistress/placeholders, or was it an empty location?

It appears the spiders were present in the caves prior to The Widowmistress being added.

Flowing black robes are kinda tough to get. You have to go into the dungeon Najena in Lavastorm and kill Najena herself to get one. I don't know if there are any other places to acquire them in Norrath because I haven't been everywhere yet. Myself, being a 14th level wiz, am unable to compete in the dungeon too far from the first room. There are greater skels, ogre guards/officers/captains and tentacle terrors, black widows, earth/mist ele's and such. You would need a good sized (4 maybe 5) group of folks your level and above. By the time you hit level 25-28 I think its pretty easy going from what I can see, but you would still need back up since we are melee-free pretty much at that point. The robe is random on Najena from what I understand as well. And there are 3 (? correct me if I'm wrong) NPCs back there.. Najena, Drezla and one other..... that is if you get that far. Might be fun to try.. but bind yourself outside the dungeon zone so you don't have to run a zillion miles to get back if Najena is the only place to get this item.

I didn't read your question carefully enough.

There appear to be 4 spawn points for giant black widows, one of which serves as the PH for The Widowmistress.

The Classic-era (~Nov1999) ShowEQ dump lists 3 spawns for "a giant black widow," so there may well have been a spawnpoint added at (460,219) as later seen in the Kunark-era dump.

Just killed her tonight. She spawns in the back of the cavern where the giant black widows spawn and has to be the toughest mob in the whole zone. Duel weilding lvl 36 rogue, always shows up with 2 weapons and she runs with SoW speed. She dropped the stiletto of the bloodclaw and a fs spear the first time we killed her, just a fs dagger, fs rapier and widowmistress hair, (?), the second time. So she appears to be a way to get the stiletto without killing Drelzna for it, though a much harder way. She also can have a giant black widow as a placeholder. She's nasty, spamming up your chat window with pierces for 83 pts, and has poisoned weapons. Didn't give her a chance at my back, so I don't know the backstab damage.

Hardly conclusive, but this could be read as the spawnpoint itself being new. The player could have said she spawned in place of one of the spiders. Instead they noted the spawn, then later mentioned The Widowmistress could have a spider PH.
