Question Rogue Shadow Armor Tint Issues

Rogue Skyshrine quest armor is tinted a gray tone on all races other than humans, where it is a brown color similar to the ranger velious armor sets. Why is this? Rogue class armor should be gray, yet for human we look like rangers. Can't this be fixed? I've attached photos of several other races in the same armor, which has a dark gray tint across the board.

Makes absolutely no sense why it is literally brown...

I can't see anything you've uploaded but does your armor look anything like what I've (hopefully) attached? Human velious chain is a yellow/gold color to begin with. You tint that grey (darken it) and it's gonna look brown. You can see what all the human velious armors look like here: https://wiki.project1999.com/images/...ious_human.jpg Hope this helps.

Pretty sure it is a case of color theory where the rogue grey tint is being applied to the default golden texture producing a dulled down yellow/brown end result.

If you have reason to believe this is not how Skyshrine human rogues in chain appeared, please share classic evidence [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.].

That hat is tinfoil spliced into the image. The lady dwarf is Koraf, again modified image.

What do non-human races have to do with it?? Is it not an issue specific to humans that the default untinted golden texture doesn’t respond to the rogue tint how you’d like it to? And the question is whether that is classic for human rogues or not?

All of the photos are from current characters in P99 Velious, with the dwarves edited to show a tinfoil hat and glasses, (taken from rogues on the wiki). After further digging, it seems like DirectX and newer operating systems have an effect on a lot of armor showing lighter than in classic, like Rubicite having a pink tint on some character models and Ethereal Mist looking magenta instead of a deep purple.

I don't particularly dislike the Shadow stuff on a human; it is just that ̶y̶o̶u̶ ̶c̶a̶n̶'̶t̶ it's hard to differentiate between a rogue and ranger - and I'm a glorified ranger-hater.

Likely due to the lighting and gamma of the newer clients being way lighter than classic, which is obvious with non ultravision/infravision races at nighttime (mixed with the tint of human chain in Velious). In classic you literally had to have someone cast a vision buff on you or it was pitch black.

Thanks for input, all!
