You sit around all day in raid comms watching youtube waiting for someone to scream "POPOPOPOP" so you can log in and deny pixels at 7 AM on a Monday, but that's not what the game is about. Boy I can't wait to spam 10 flux staff buttons in rapid succession while kiting this guard, this is a fun thing to do for with my day.
MAAANNNN I am so PUMPED to go stare at this spawn point for 16 hours straight, this is riveting gameplay! I hate those other guilds, dude, the people in my guild's discord echo chamber says they're nothing but the scum of the earth and they're all underhanded, double-dealin', no-good swindlers I tell ya hwat.

Meanwhile, the chad, 255 INT, 255 WIS guildless hermit in full banded armor with a bronze longsword and a vendor kite shield just runs around killing random shit and meeting people and grouping up and talking to people and stuff, you know? Like, that's way cooler than being a lawyerquesting poopsocking nerd p99 addict.

You are all playing this game so wrong, and stuff.

The correct way to play is to roll a barbarian, do every level in Everfrost, Permafrost and Black Burrow with occasional jaunts to Karana.

(And make pals with whoever is cool enough to inhabit these regions). Take no gifts, click all overlevelled buffs.

it's not and this project has proved it since day 1, closest you can get to experiencing early EQ is gonna be some project like Erenshor that emulates a Mmorpg as a single player game with a bunch of larping bots

Just do the dumb things you did in 1999-2000 like making leather/silk armor and baking food instead of hunting cashcamps and speedrunning to 50.
I dunno if it works here but in BB find a skunk and get musked. I am 100% certain other monsters can sniff you out from the other side of the zone.

I made an iksar monk with full visible black panther, seahorse belt, a fungi and the level appropriate weapons and the most thrilling thing is brushes with death fighting red cons in kurns. I could get the same thrill with raw silk armor and using just fists fighting blue cons.

I've done some raiding and it is often boring AF. Sometimes I feel like I'd be better served doing a solo self found mage or whatever. I feel like I enjoy camping stuff the most I think so it would make sense, especially on an old server like p99's.

Maybe that's just me but what's the point of gearing a toon if it is going to spend the rest of its life in TOV anyway.

Why not try P99 red? Camps are open, and you can fist as many blue mobs as you like.
