Default Intentional poisonings are on the rise in the US

Intentional poisoning deaths in the United States have risen a staggering amount — and the number of intentional pediatric poisonings is also up.

Quote:
Breaking it down between children and adults, the number of intentional pediatric poisonings resulting in death is up more than 122%, and those incidents resulting in a “major effect” such as a disability are up more than 190%.

For adults, the number of intentional poisoning is up nearly 234%, and intentional poisonings that resulted in major effect was up more than 133%.

I wonder how many of these are fentanyl related. I live in the same area as the center that conducted this study, and I know of multiple people who have passed away after being given fentanyl, but told it was something else. Law enforcement definitely classifies these instances as poisonings.

I actually had a long time family friend pass away from a fentanyl OD a couple of years ago, and later talked to the last person who saw them alive and they casually mentioned to me that they felt bad about what happened because they had accidentally given them fentanyl under the false assumption that it was meth. The main dealer who distributed the drugs to them is actually in prison for 25 years because apparently his drugs got a lot of the people in this town killed etc.

I'm not a drug user or anything, but I do think a lot of the people who are OD'ing on fentanyl aren't actual heroin addicts and have no clue what they are actually ingesting.

Note: Intentional = self poisoning from drug overdose or suicide.

So the "sCiEnCE" is misleading and intentional poisonings are not up.

But suicides and drug overdoses are.

Good article to remind us that people that base their feelings off of studies, are actually dumber than ones that base them off lived experiences.

Also a good reminder and a note to all, it's People magazine, they're not really a reliable news source. They make up clickbait headlines that don't fit the contents of the articles. They're "reporters" are also heavily biased to use inflammatory terms for clicks and ad revenue.

I saw a post last year where some medical nurse or guy or something was like spraying some chemicals under their neighbors door to poison them in their apartment building.
