Default New player - lower level grouping

Hi All,

I’m new to p99 - played back on live from about 99-02 and then took a break for 2 decades. I played on a TLP a couple years back and then Quarm most recently. I wanted to try out P99 and I started a Monk on Green. Over all I really like the P99 feel.

I know the server is older and I’m coming way late to the party here, but is there still any grouping going on sub 30? Or even post 30? Would I be correct in assuming that 95%+ of the player base is just doing level 60 content at this point? Meaning that as a melee I should be prepared for a mostly solo adventure at this point?

Some very cool roleplaying SK just gave me a pair of SCHW and a magic 2HB out of the blue so that was a big upgrade! So between that and bandages I could make it work but of course would prefer if I had some possibility of grouping to look forward to in the future.

I was considering heading over to Gfay to see if there was more going on there compared to WFP/commons area for grouping. Currently a level 7 monk and my plays times are usually after 8pm PST.

Any thoughts on the above\feedback would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Hey, welcome. IMO the leveling scene on green is healthy but it's not spread out, like MM might be overcrowded while Paw is completely empty. So if you want to just show up and join a full group or get on a list head to Unrest, MM, CoM, Velks, Karnors, etc. But you can also find duos or groups in other spots that might be more fun/exp but you have to be more proactive.

Okay well that doesn’t sound too bad, thanks for the info! I will try upper guk/lower guk when I get there. It’s one of my favorite zones in the game but understood I will need to bring my own group probably.

Thanks!

7-25 Unrest and kurns are great options frequently having people in them (would not suggest kurns past 23).
(Kurns 8-23, Unrest 8 - 30)

Kurns generally tends to be safer as there are less casters but it does not have as much range

25 - 40 Goblins in highkeep basement are pretty great, mistmoore has a lot of leveling options as well. Post 40 COM stables tends to frequently have groups, can stay there until 56 honestly by going up to ramparts but post 50 a lot of people tend to group karnors.

All the above area's tend to have groups in them often ^ ^

a good option is to check the zone ahead of time examples: "/who highkeep", "/who Mistmoore", "/who city", /who Karnor"

This will allow you to check who is in zone and ask if there is a group there without having to do all the running / see if they have room and possibly even reserve a spot.
