Default Does a damage shield give hate/threat/agro?

I was wondering if a damage shield would give a warrior more agro control if it was cast on him?

Don't think so since the damage made by damage shield is considered as neutral damage

No

Damage shield damage does not count towards your characters threat rating. A good way to test this is put on a DS and aggro a creature such as a skele(one that attacks whoever), if it dies from only damage shield damage (assuming you could get xp from the skele) you will not get xp because none of the damage counted as damage dealt by your character.

Another way to test is to aggro a creature, let the ds deal over half their damage, then have a friend tag the creature. creature should immediately switch targets because their damage produced threat.

The previous two posters are absolutely correct.

Damage shield damage generates zero hate for the caster and zero hate for the person being hit who has a damage shield buff.

Additionally this damage is not counted toward any player's damage total on a certain mob...this is why damage shields are so useful for powerleveling...the damage shield can do 99% of the work and the newbie only does 1 point of damage but still gets credit so long as no one else does any non-damage-shield-damage.
