Default Blue Perspective

I want to come to red99. I started playing live about 2 months before Kunark, so I missed almost all of the level 50 endgame, plus I was always intrigued by the idea of adding PvP to the mix.

But as I read the forums I see a clique of raging neckbeard tryhards that are treating the coming of red99 like it is the missing fourth piece of their life's puzzle after masturbation, microwavable food and conspiracy theories. I know literally nobody who is posting here and I immediately hate almost all of you. From a blue perspective, the group clamoring the loudest for and about red99 sound like human cancer.

I see people here bragging about accomplishments that I would be embarrassed to even remember. The more intimidating you think you're being, the sadder you actually sound and the more repellent you are to blues thinking about participating. Not because you are scary, but because you care so much. You are not admired or feared by casuals. You are just avoided.

Short version: These forums make red99 sound like it has prenatal cancer with a side of Asperger's. You realize you NEED well-played casuals, both to put a pulse in a raid slot and to have someone to be better than? Be less repulsive. Start by toning down the caring.

Also, if there are any red99-bound guilds or players who lurk this mb but mostly eschew it, I would love to get in touch via pm or a post. I'm looking for a crowd of people who do not routinely spew vitriol on internet messageboards, roleplay, get drunk expressly to play EQ, and have not experienced the majority of their relationships as disembodied voices over vent.

You're going to find that most of the ingame population is as sad as they appear on the forums if not moreso because they can now grief to fulfill their shortcomings IRL.

It's pvp. It attracts the lowest common denominator of human filth. It is no different in any mmorpg, ever.

OOC is filled with shit like, "gnomes are like little jews", "****** ****** ****** ******", etc.

You just ignore it. It sounds like you can't handle the internet in either case and not just pvp.

If you're looking to make friends this post probably isn't a good start.

Ryba, in my experience i've noticed that the most vocal forum posters make up a very small amount of the population.. the rest of the population doesn't post because they dont feel like dealing with the bullshit that follows.

if you dont like the language, i believe theres a bad word filter, and if you don't like a particular player, i suggest using /ignore

just don't judge the entire server based on a dozen or so forum posters.

good luck!

If you aren't getting run off the server, they aren't having fun. If they're getting run off, they cry for a wipe based on an exploit that they shared. Pretty good system really to protect their "we won legit" image.

Just use /ignore and try to meet the normal people. GL.

This is why global ooc is terrible. Luckily, it's only in for beta.

Seems like most of the things this vztz crowd suggested was a bad idea to keep a server going. lol, duh.

Now before you all get 50 on live, can we discuss item loot? Or is the lvl 20 twink in full resist gear going to be going around lawling his brains out griefing?

/side with Nilbog on item loot, a nay to the vztz's.

Heres the deal: PvP is for people who like competing directly with other players. This includes a wide range of play styles and mentalities but there is only one server. It's kind of like lumping together everyone who plays a sport into one category. You got a range of people who go bowling every other Thursday to MMA fighters.

Oh and since the invention of the internet the lowest common denominator of any group of people have been the most vocal on forums.

I honestly dont see all this bad behavior and shit. If anything the vztz crew trashes each other. Its rare to see someone just talk complete trash to some noob unless the noob started shit first really. . .
