Newb needs help

Ok, it took me a couple tries to get the install right, credit for that is not reading ALL the directions. But when I go to Nek Forest, I can see PC's but the environment is all black, so I have no terrain etc or way to tell where I am. Anyone ever had this problem, or better yet, a fix without reinstalling it all again?

You'll probably find some answers in the Technical Support section. If you don't find anyone that had a similar issue you might want to repost this in that section of the forums.

(I don't know the answer or else I'd answer here).

Delete and/or rename the following files:

nektulos.eqg
nektulos light emitters (whatever the exact name of the file is, can't be arsed to look it up)
arena.eqg
lavastorm.eqg

All of this is in the Getting Started guide, btw.

got it, forgot to remove the files the 2nd time through... Thank you both My Necro now lives =)
