Game Mechanics: applying poison

Just putting this out there before I get detailed in my search for answers.

At 200apply poison I still occasionally fail 8 times in a row before an apply... now with the removal of the vendor made poisons I'm now having to farm most all of the mats from mobs and not getting many from hours of farming im concerned that rogues are now extremely gimped in the fact I have to rely on 2 dropped poisons for all my poison needs because if i fail combine/apply/ and then it gets resisted im compelled to say this sucks and quit making them all together

Also I remember poisons applying faster as you gained skill in apply. I must leave now but when I return I will have it all researched and post my findings.

For now if anyone has any input or information readily available already please post
