Default Possible new player a few questions

Hello,
I am very intrested in joining the glory days of eq. I stopped playing when luclin came out, i recently just tryed the new free version and cant stand it. Anyways a little research lead me to here. Just wondering if the server is popular enough to support new players? Also are the graphics the original? I hope they are and not the newer luclin kind. One last question, would my laptop be able to run this. Intel core 2 duo 2.0ghz, 2gb ram, windows xp sp3 and x3100 graphics. I dont think it would be an issue but ya never know. Thanks everyone!

I joined when the population was roughly where it is now, and I have had a blast. There are certain places to level where, assuming you aren't playing in extreme off-hours, there will be other people to level with.

Oasis, unrest, mistmoore, crushbone, EC, City of Mist, are a few that come to mind.

Be proactive about meeting people and being social/polite/competent in-game. There are several guilds that recruit newer players, and joining one of them will help you immensely.

Yes.

Yes. Back in the day many of us ran classic everquest on the shittiest of computers-- it's no match for even a low end current-generation setup. The setup guide on the home page has some helpful tips for getting the emulator to run properly on modern systems.

This question had been answered in your own starting thread, but yes, Kurns is still popular for most leveling iksars. There's usually a couple people hanging out in there.

There are always low level groups on the go. Some times zones can be surprisingly full. Unrest for example has often been fully camped with over 20 people in the zone. There are a couple wall groups, a couple on the main floor and upstairs. This has been the case in other lower level zones too. If you go somewhere and there's no action, figure out where people are and head there. I'm sure you'll have a great time on the server. It's very close to how it was in 99 / 2000

There's lots of new players, as well as heaps of alts everywhere.

If you're stuck for ideas of what zone to goto just /w all <yourlevel> and you'll see where the popular places are.
