Default SoD Client?

I know there is no "official" plans to support the SoD client on P99, but I noticed when I was farting around on EZ Server that people were saying I should be using it.

That being said, since they share a common code base to some extent, does the SoD client work with P99? Or am I making a headache for myself in trying to get it to do so?

I'm more curious to hear about people that have tried SoD and whether it works or not than hypotheticals and official quotes (unless said official quotes say "it doesn't work!")

Normally I'd run two installations, but my HDD is getting rather full.

Not that I can play right now anyway, with a borked GPU and all, but still. Would be good to know for when/if it gets fixed [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

If I spent half as much time playing as forum-ing, I'd be 50 by now.

SoD = Shards of Dalaya right?

I thought it ran off a totally different set of servers and wasn't a part of EQEMU. No clue if you could use it, would probably have to change the port and need some more server info.

SOD = Seeds of Destruction

You'll prob run into similar issues with the SOF Client. Bad spell files, weird start zones, no newbie food/items, graphical issues, etc.

I am unable to connect with the SoD client with is sad because it runs so much smoother on my pc than titanium, anywhere I have played with SoD MAN what a difference, faster load times, better fps...it is just by far a better client. Please pass on my suggestion to consider supporting it officially, its awesome.

Alright, thanks Aeol. Sorry, for some reason the forums have been marking random sub-forums as Read when I haven't read them. S'why I took so long to respond.

I guess I'll have to do two installations, then. When I get my new computer, anyway. *grumble*
