Default Making money while leveling up

Hey guys,

I am a level 9 cleric right now. I have a paladin and monk friend that I am leveling up with.

All three of us are playing for the first time on P99. Does anyone have some zones to recommend for us as we level up so that we can make money and level effectively?

Thanks

Nybright sisters in Lfay. Sell CB/DF belts from orcs in crushbone/e. commons. Sell bone chip and bat wing stacks.

Thanks Falkun.

I noticed there is a guide that runs through this on up to level 50. I wanted to make sure the information wasn't outdated.

Are there zones in Kunark that we'd want to go to?

Leveling in the giant forts is decent money. Warslik's Wood in early 20s, frontier mountains in 30s

I've searched a bit through the stickies and didn't see a guide related to making money while leveling. Would you mind linking this guide? I'd be very interested.

No problem.

The issue with that guide is that it is pre-Kunark.

If you're 12-16ish you can actually go out to north karana and kill willowisps for their greater lightstones.. or even erud's xing for willowisps.. just anywhere you can find them.. bring them out to North karana and turn them in to the gypsy lady who says something about the [Concordance of research] You can turn in the greater lightstones to her, and get the concordance which sells for about 10plat..

If you're looking for a major score, at around level 14-18ish go to lake of ill omen and look up the sarnak courier cycle.. Watch out for wandering crusaders.. but you can sit on a courier spawn point and get nigh-instant respawn mobs with the chance of getting a 10-13k item (the Goblin Ghazugi ring).. Probably not a bad idea. But, there is a chance of wiping out your group if a crusader (iksar SK) or another guard paths through and decides that he doesn't like one of your members..

Likewise in Lake of ill omen for slightly higher level characters, (20-25ish) you can probably pull the sarnak fort and kill sarnaks for a chance to get a bracer of the hidden (6-8k item) they're very rare, but you could get lucky..

If you don't like kelethin and don't care about your faction there...

At around 25ish you can kill the 2 sisters in the hut above the other sisters on Sister island in oot.. It's a little bit slow going.. but you'll get 11pp per kill, there's 2 and they're on a 6 minute timer.. so.. 22pp every 6 minutes, or about 220pp every hour.

Really not bad for level 25ish characters..

Once you hit around 35-40 you can go to Rathe mountains and kill the hill giants on hill giant hill.. They drop between 0-80pp 0-700gp, and various amounts of of silver and copper.. (one trick to killing there is to go to a vendor and when you get overloaded with gold silver and copper just buy a gem (like an opal or similar) and sell it back to the vendor.. You'll lose about a plat (or a few gold) every time you do it.. but you'll save yourself a lot of hassle trying to make it to a bank..)

Once you hit around 46-52ish..
You can go out to seafury island and slaughter them for their gems.. some will drop nothing, some will drop 200pp ruby crowns, or 140pp rubies etc..

Just going to mention though, The higher your level gets, the better cash loot drops from mobs.. There are some outliers like the goblin ghazugi ring, and bracer of the hidden.. but most of the really high money loot comes from high level zones.

I'd avoid the part about the crag spiders from 18-24 for making money. I don't think anybody buys silk anymore, especially since wu's armor was removed from tailoring until velious. The exp there was decent though, just don't get poisoned.
