Default Effectiently using the mouse for viewing around

Hi guys !

I recently discovered this community.

I used to play this awesome game since the very beginning of velious and loved it, that is why I'm coming back to try the game.

However I have several issues, mostly with the mouse.

How can I efficiently use the mouse to move around the camera (something like in wow).

When I enable "mouse look" it turns the camera right when I move my mouse left.

Is there a way to invert this (aside from invert Y)

Is it also possible than when I hold right click and move it moves my character left or right with the same direction as the camera (WoW style?)

How do you guys move the camera without pain?

Thanks a lot for all your help !!!

See you in-game

Using the mouse to move the camera around your character (a la WoW) was not added as a feature until the 2006-2008 era.

I'm not aware of any way to invert the mouse outside of the standard Y-axis inversion.

If you hold left+right click in EQ, I believe it runs in that direction, but you can't turn your camera independently of your character.

This is a common issue with playing the "old" Classic version...we all remember features and functions that we used, but do not remember when they became available...=)

Hey guys thanks for those quick replies.

So we come to this : how do you guys move the camera around in the best way?

with the keyboard?
do you have some special key mapping for this?

I'm trying to find the best way to play this game again, when you are used to modern camera view (a la WoW) it's pretty hard.

I use the WASD keys, with A and D bound to strafe left and strafe right, respectively. I also use the mouse wheel to scroll the camera out to third person, and I generally hold right click to not only look around at will, but turn my character as well.

i hope this helps (or even relates to whats being asked)
but press F9 to change angle
then when you are at the 3rd available angle
dragging with the right mouse button will zoom out or in, giving u custom 3rd person view

and holding CTRL (or clicking with right mouse) in first person allows u to strafe left or right with directional keys

Hi, In fact I found out a way to handle the camera which is more or less the same as in WoW and any other recent game.

Juste hit F9 until you are in inner-character view (you can't see your toon at all).

Then wheel-out with your mouse until you can see your avatar.

At this point you can move around the camera by holding the right mouse button.

Works perfectly for me combined with ALT+O and diminishing the frame rate below 100.

Hope this well help someone, because the other F9 views are just plain awful.

Cheers,
