Newbie question on where to spend my few pp's
Dwf pally, lvl 13.
I have Dwarven 2h axe atm. Should I buy a 50-100pp wep or should I get a full set of banded for solo/tanking in group. I have 1h dwarven axe and a store bought shield. Thanks for any advice.

You picked a great race for your Pally, not counting their Barrel Roll. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
As a Melee a GOOD weapon is tops over gear in my opinion. Paladins don't put out much DPS twinked, so every bit of a better weapon the better. [You must be logged in to view images. Get Baton of Faith 100%. Don't use it til level 20 though and haggle it down to 50-100pp.
http://wiki.project1999.com/Baton_of_faith Spend w/e is left on Bronze. If you have nothing left go camp sisters in lfay for awhile. Only buy the useful spells, for instance: at level 15 I wouldn't buy hammer of wrath or sense the dead.

While for melee, AC is KING, you are in a bit of a pickle with a low damage weapon. I would still go for the banded armor, though. You will survive more fights and kill enough to earn that 100pp again in no time.
Just kill everything you see and loot/sell everything.

My rough plan for gearing a paladin from scratch:
~ 1:2 ration weapon for 100pp Banded armour ~100AC ~100pp Platinum Fire Wedding rings (5AC 55HP 250pp each) Save for FBSS or loot hangman's noose / sky rot belt (I think it is only 16% for paladins) tinker bags ... regen tunic? overthere gatehammer? Don't waste your money on peripheral spells that are rarely used or quickly replaced.

A full set of banded should cost you 80pp in EC (people sell full sets). I would go for that over a wep.
Your aggro is spell based, not DPS based. Buy flash of light (if you don't have it already) and use that once you start meleeing the mob, not before. If you cast if before the mob gets to you it will run because it acts as a fear if they are not in melee range. At lvl 30 you get stun which is huge aggro. After you get the banded save up for a decent 1h + shield combo as that is what you should be using in groups. Paladins are great fun. They can be aggravating because of the exp penalty and they are hard to gear (expensive/time consuming) if you are just starting out. Stick with it, paladins are boss group tanks.

Thanks for your replies. I do have flash of light, and I have already purchased my lvl 15 spells that are useful. Just trying to get this Banded armor in EC now.
