I think that guineapig was making a comment about the current state of the non-named beetles in unrest, which is that they are NOT currently KOS but should be.

It's really hard to click back a page so I'll re-quote the quote Chicanery posted that contradicted her statement.

These bugs have a large aggro range, and will swarm quickly. They aggro to ANY fight, and can turn an easy fight into a deadly one rather quickly.
The beetles assist aggro, but I never recall them being kos themselves.

In other words, they behave like every other beetle in Norrath. Shocker! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I believe the beetles acted like the crocodiles in oasis. There are certain npcs that should be "scowls, ready to attack", but never do.

There is no support in eqemu for this, so the best we can do is limit its aggro radius. I have mentioned this to the source folks, but I'm not sure of a fix.

Post Shadowpincer

Hmm just killed Shadowpincer today. Cons white at 15, hits up to 45 dmg, and only dropped cracked beetle carpace. Pretty useless mob...

Shadowpincer is a live event mob that got sucked up by packet sniffers.
