This suspension has given the other guilds on the server a great gift in that they have 2 earthquakes (maybe even 3?) and 20 days of usual respawns to learn and practice. Will they use this time to hone their raid forces and make effort to compete or will they take it as free loot and revert back to complaining about server bogey men when the suspensions are over. Hard to say but I know i'm putting my money on.

why is that level of effort/dedication necessary or good?
That is EQ. Plenty of other MMO or co-op type games that support different play. I think the player base comes back to this one because it taps into something primal in the human condition.

The game just wasn't designed with participation medals in mind, those that are willing to go that extra mile for their goals are rewarded (just like real life!) so 'git gud' is very much applicable.

cause that's just how life is, survival is all about being better than the competition and Whether or not we agree with it is arbitrary.

right about RL, but this is a video game. plenty of servers have/have had rotations, including this one. weren't A/A rotation the crummy ntov dragons recently as well?
They have to become strong enough to knock them off the block or at least stand eye to eye with them. Otherwise, no. Venerate tried to break into the A/A circle when I joined them, I remember Kiix trying to negotiate for rotations. Those didn't happen. You have to have the numbers and the skill and just go take them. You are a force or someone that has to be managed.

As many frustrations as that can cause I am thankful the game still exists, I have little if any respect for modern MMO games but I have mind myself or else I come off like a P99 Red vs. Blue player.

Competition makes people try harder to succeed and thus perform better. Someone who wins a competition is generally better than someone who loses. Law of nature.

the answer i was leading toward is - the absolute mountain of shit top end raiders would dump on the server would be ruinous to staff health and wellbeing. staff are badly outnumbered and outgunned. it's a threat and a credible one.

You can't blame the staff for the community showing time and time again they can't act with any sort of maturity.I say the staff should leave the raid scene alone and lawless for a month, and see how much shit gets downed with the constant training and KS'ing.
Agnarr has a 6k population I hear.

What? You don't wake up in the middle of the night for pixels?
Dedication, possibly crazy but who am I to judge that when I live in a world where people go to extreme lengths for all sorts of things that interest them.

Not going to address you speaking on behalf of raiding without ever raiding yourself?

Not one level 60. Odd.

You really love attention don't you?
I personally found 55+ becomes a chore and no longer fun. When a game becomes unenjoyable, I either quit the game or find other things to do on the game.

I only needed to try raiding in 2 different guilds to understand it wasn't my cup of tea. I realize that's a difficult concept to grasp for a nerd like you. I just prefer having autonomy and value my freedom over being a pixel slave in a raid guild.

If attitudes were different, and the raid scene was better maybe I'd enjoy it more but I suppose those pixels-above-all-else attitudes are necessary to raid on p99 and I don't have that mentality.

TL;DR

It's not necessary to be level 60 to recognize how the raid scene operates on p99.

Sounds like you just joined in on the most popular opinion because you desperately want the approval of peers you don't receive out of game (or forum in your case).

You have nothing but other peoples' words to offer for any given subject 55+.

Good to know.

You can try to evaluate me psychologically but you will fail miserably. Nice try though. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

It's your own words.

I already knew it, but wanted you to admit it. Nothing you say holds weight.

Attention seeking buffoon. I'm done with you.

Still won big money!
I may not like your approach to P99, but I like that you play poker.

Well done.

Fun fact - over 70% of players in the final table get busted out from AK... it aint as good as it looks.
