Default Window transparency issue

I am trying to make my windows opaque, as I find the text difficult to read against most (semi) transparent backgrounds.
However, if I slide the "window transparency" around I can go from almost completely transparent to about p[artly transparent, which is still difficult to read.

I can remember back in the day I had no problem setting opaque windows, so perhaps this is some issue with the latest directx or something?

How do others do with this. Can you make your windows (chat specifically) completely opaque... ie black background?

yes you can, maybe you need to change the window tint as well? (there's another slider bar for that somewhere in the right-click menu of a chat window)

AHH. wasnt aware of that right click menu, cos you need to click at the bottom of the window for it to work.
Found out the answer... needed to select window-> texture. (tint was already on black)

Yay now I can read chat without having to stand in front of a black wall.
Thankyou
