It's funny because Hasbinbad is obsessed with irony and on educating people about what he believes is the true definition of irony. He used to literally go on for hours in IRC about how others' definition of irony was "wrong" while his was "right". No amount of google searches, dictionary.com links, or wikipedia articles could satisfy him. When you use the word irony in a way that doesn't conform to his definition he becomes extremely irate, making it very easy to troll him.

It works best when Hasbinbad criticizes another player's skill, after which you can say "oh, that's ironic". This pisses him off doubly because (a) that usage of irony doesn't fit his definition, and (b) it usually gets him very worked up when you insinuate that he's unskilled. This is usually followed by an hour long treatise about how complicated the Rogue class is in Everquest and how much skill it requires to press the same hotkey over and over.
