I'd say more than 8 considering they require "considerable senior management level experience." If it's anything like IT you'll be 8 years in the trenches before making supervisor, then 5-10 to Manager, then 10 to Director, whereupon the Senior Management clock starts ticking... If you want to make 100k before 30 you need to be self employed (which of course means -100k is also possible [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Ouch, it would take you 10 years to get to that point after Grad school AND have to live in Florida? Did you think about switching to Business, you'd be close to 6 figures in a few years out of school as long as you worked your ass off and proved you were an asset to the company. Or is it not about money and just love of city planning.
Also municipal governments are going to be doing some major belt tightening over the next 10 years do I wouldn't say those positions are guaranteed to always be there and paying 100k+ | ||
