If you didn't play when variance wasn't instituted, I understand how you wouldn't realize how it was an improvement on past situations. There is room for improvement, but that is only achieved by instituting more non-classic changes. Which was your opening statement against variance, it being non-classic. Thus, any changes to the raid scene to make it better will be non-classic. So in summation? Variance may be non-classic, but that's because using a classic raid scene wasn't sustainable. They've stated they are working on newer solutions to the raid scene that would alleviate variance. Oh, and I was letting you know why variance was put into place, not defending it you dickweed.

It is as close to classic as I remember. At one point I was upset because I mistakenly thought that single target mez overwrote group mez, but browsing the old posts, it turned out I was wrong... so... as far as I can tell, I can't believe it's not butter. Is it me or is P199 more top heavy than the original servers? I can't help but feel that the original game always had more people 'stuck' in the mid-higher mid level spectrum.
The fact the server is 3 years old and still only at Kunark serves to explain this, to some degree, but if you're playing this you were probably a hardcore player from back then. Gathering all those hardcore nutters on any kind of EQ server is asking for problems. Fippy confirmed that xD
