Default Guilds

I was wondering, for serious, why the top guids don't coordinate or share their gains or mobs with one another?

Can we get some leaders in here, doesn't one or two of them share?

obviously a troll post, but why should they?
really? As long as they act within the rules, they can get as much as they can, as long as they first.
So, your question is moot.

Damn it.

Okay. So why should they... I'm watching the presidential election thing because I was forced to, and I guess I feel the same on both subjects: whatever.

They can share in order to provide more fun for everyone, or they can dominate and require more people to join them to see anything.

But who benefits from a big guild? The biggest members do the most. That's fine, they get the most loot I guess.

Still seems like it could be a friendlier middle ground.

I expect my post to cause 0 shits to be had, just curious myself I don't even play on blue.

most people do sports to have fun and play with the others. Occasionally winning is a pleasant side bonus.

Professional player do sports to WIN. For fame, for glory, for self-assertion and even for money.

The top raid guilds of EQ fall into 2nd category. They don't share the spoils of their victory, cause otherwise the victory will be meaningless. They believe that the only people who should be at the top, are those who broke trough all possible odds with sweat and blood and still won at the end. Those who didn't are pathetic and deserve nothing.

The game at its core was designed with understanding that it will take people years to get to the high end, and there will be very few raiding guilds at all - hence original EQ only had 3 real raid targets, and creators thought - "Well maybe once a month a 100 or so guys will get together and maybe kill a dragon once in a while". They clearly underestimated the players [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
This problem will solve itself down the line with simply adding a shit load of additional raid targets during Velious and double that amount during PoP. Modern games solve it with instancing.
On this server - I suppose you will see neither. At least for a WHILE.
