Default Make your armor look more detailed , easy to install

Hey some people wanted me to re post this classic yet detailed p99 upgrade. So here it is. Credits go to the creators in the links. All the threads are old so locked and we have a lot of new players that probably do not have this, and it really puts better detail in your character and armor. Also cures the black spot bug and is easy to install (just like you patch p99) and easy to remove/reset if for some reason you do not like it ( you will like it [You must be logged in to view images. IT IS ALL CLASSIC NOTHING GETS CHANGED JUST UN BLURS and gives detail.
Even though it makes everything look better (even Velious armors) (no more blur!) it does not change from the classic look or feel of EQ. Try it out.

Some Examples :

This next photo is before he had other models finished. but check out the before and after on the Ogre and you can see why this is classic , yet new.

If love EQ i highly recommend it , especially if you are getting bored of the game because it really brings immersion with the HD classic based graphics.

All Download links are posted from original creator. If for some reason they quit working (good as of this post) , than google it because others keep updating it.
THIS IS FOR JUST THE CHAR AND ARMOR : I highly recomend and say get only this one. (at least until the zone ones are all finished.)
CHARACTER and Armor UPGRADED TEXTURE Download:
https://docs.google.com/uc?id=0B23oc...xport=download
To Install open the zip file you downloaded and extract the folder to your EverQuest folder. It will ask you if you want to rewrite the files, Do so. just like a normal p99 patch. ^This is for character model/ weapons and armor detail only.^

OPTIONAL Classic Zones just detailed.
The only zones currently completed are :
• Felwith Partially Complete
• Karnor HD complete
• Greater Faydark HD Complete
• Akanon HD complete
If want to check out more previews of the citys and get the patch for them you can get that here. http://modp99.forumotion.com/f1-zone-re-texturing

Instructions are posted.
1.) (optional) Back-up all current .s3d files in your Everquest folder (sort file types by using find in windows)
2.) Download Textures: http://p99.yourfirefly.com/ the best is the High-res S3D files from EQ Trilogy.
3.) extract RAR to your EQ folder (rewrite all)

and you're done! easy right? you can backup your old s3d files if want to be safe. I dont use this one anymore due to being on laptop. but it was nice on desktop.
freeport looks amazing.
THE OP for Freeport where all this information came from.
http://www.project1999.com/forums/sh...postcount16603
also includes duxa ui install and other graphic and UI stuff.

a non GM but green forum name so some people took it wrong. named Secrets , made a post that was totally wrote to sound this was illegal , very easily taken out of context. Secrets post @ https://www.project1999.com/forums/s...2&postcount=13 is in the original post i linked above.
the Sirken Quote he is talking about is talking about editing character models to help like in pvp change skellys to ogre. or the duke vision thing they had on red. or plenty other crazy "hacks" , but they do not police simple graphic enhancement.
Sirkens statement here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3by...u.be&t=106m50s
I've ran these for years and even have talk to Sirken about them before an tried to get him to DL them. The GM do not care afaik and it really gives the game new life. and i know others who use them for years. no problems or glitches.

I would urge you to download the textures and try them yourself.

"EverQuest was first released in 1999 with low-resolution 32x32 textures. EverQuest: The Shadows of Luclin will feature 256x256 textures, with some as large as 512x512. The higher-resolution textures will make the game's online fantasy world look more detailed and lifelike. Sony also released new screenshots showing off some of the game's environments using the higher-resolution textures. " - Gamespot.com

Is just utilizing technology made by Verant/Sony.

Luclin models are not allowed anymore.

Enjoy

Good stuff - I'd think more people used Luclin textures.

What happened to that Cheeby guy and his glorious HD textures? I have not seen those before, doesnt seem to be any downloads there either...

Well its in one of my eq texture files from when I was messing with altering them, I have one that adds a look like the wow justicar armor (sorta) for erudite helm/face combo as well.

Basically when unpacked the texture files are just bmp images, so easy to update, repack and use in game with whatever you want.
