![]() hey all, having a specific issue
sometimes when i do something in game - can be anything (/con a mob, casting a spell, opening a door, sending a tell/hailing etc.) sometimes there is a second or two delay before it goes through. my ms is fine, internet connection is good. did all the basic troubleshooting things out there for this box. this didn't start until a few weeks ago randomly. ive tried different installs on multiple computers in the house - same thing. I even get this same type of delay on agnarr! its almost as tho my internet connection/isp behaves with everquest (again both p99 and agnarr) in a strange way. I haven't had the opportunity to try my install out on a different IP/internet connection (i know thats the most logical next step in troubleshooting this), so until then, my question is - has anyone had/have this issue before? and if so, whats may be something to try until i can test it on another connection to rule that out. open to any discussion and suggestions really cheers!

![]() I know in recent year.. I think. When there was 'someone' spaming EC lord rogean put some anti spam features in place. Your macros may need /pause 1 or 2 in them to function properly. At least in my experience I had to adjust after said features.
I know this instantly caused guilds to complain because they couldn't spam their raid stats properly. At the time. --- General old school mmorpg advice is to add a delay for your latency. Even if it's under 100ms. Just throwing that out there. And that not everyone is the same. Remember we are using a client from the bleeding edge of 2006.

![]() Bump. for anyone else experiencing this - after alot of troubleshooting and some help from some tech savvy ppl this is a packletloss issue.
http://winmtr.net/download-winmtr/ plug straight into your modem, disable other devices, run this software and connect to one of p99's IP 66.55.145.2. also try google's 8.8.8.8 the 2nd number in the collumn after the host name shows hte % of packets lost. gonna get a tech out here soon as i can ill post what he says i was getting 5% packloss across pretty much everything i would try to connect to. to give an example of what this did in everquest - i would target a mob, and /con it in half secound intervals, at around every 15-20 secound the con messages would stop, then after a few seconds a bunch of con messages would appear in the chat window like it was trying to catch up. another example - im running for my life trying to open a door, 2 seconds goes by after i click the door before it opens all the while mobs beating on me

check your cable box on the side of your house for corrosion or any physical damage, and disable other devices on your network when running the test
