Default Monk - tips on how to make money at level 21

As a Monk I'm finding it very difficult to get experience and money/loot at the same time. Without weight eliminating bags, how does any Monk actually make money at a reasonable rate and still make experience. I figure I am either doomed to a life of asking for weight reducing bags every time I log in or fighting low level stuff like Willowisps until I can buy a few 100% weight reducing bag if there is such a thing. Any advice would be helpful.

AC is borked on this server. I did the same thing early on levelling up... then realized it hardly matters. I usually run around with a few hundred plat on me these days for convenience.

so...you're saying the 13wt/stones rule of thumb doesn't apply here?

It does (easy to check on a level 1 monk). I believe it is more a discussion some people have questioning the effect of AC on P99 not matching what it was on Live. This debate then moves further contemplating the variances in mitigation AC and avoidance AC. I've always played casters so I wouldn't dare entering this discussion but that's the gist of it which will explain why some monk disregard weight to a degree (but I would think they do once they are past a certain AC level)

Crag Spiders in the zone just past Highpass, close to the Karanas. You'll be here from 21-24 and get TONS of Spider Silk, which you can later sell for some good plat, about 10pp a stack.

And while AC isn't that big of a sacrifice in this game, I remember something about Monks ability to dodge and mitigate incoming blows naturally is also impacted by being over the weight scale.

I notice I cannot take on blue con (risky) mobs when I'm at about 20 weight, but can easily when I'm 14 or below weight. And forget about taking on blue con (dangerous) mobs. Even light blue becomes more risky with 20 weight or more. AC may very well be different than live, but it does make a difference in every time I've gone above the weight limit.

heh, the Tink Bags cost a cool 5040pp, from deep inside SolA, and thats with good CHA.

I've found on my monk that i've been able to make about 2kpp from vendoring stuff by level 35. A lot of it has to do with smart looting. Since you often will be near the corpse, you can loot it before other people if you want (pass around the coin if u feel greedy, but then pick what u loot. learn what low weight items sell high (and stack) and leave the fine steel for others

in OT a stack of suculent sap will net you 8gp per sap and drops sometimes two at a time off mobs (and weighs like nothing)

i've found being 10-25 stones over weight isn't too bad a hit. if you are soloing, then u might notice it, but in a group its not a big deal at low levels, thats just my opinion

crag spiders will destroy you. their poison is very potent at level 20, especially for a class that cannot cure it by itself.

sad to say but i believe your best recourse is to endure being poor for a while until you are higher and can farm something like droga or roll on loot in the crypt in sebilis.
