Default EQEMu Launcher not working?

Hey I installed P99 onto my new computer. Now there is something new called EQEMU Launcher. The program worked well for about a week and a half. Now it is giving me an "unknown error". I cant find any tech support self help for this program. I tried reinstalling it and that didnt work. Any help be greatly appreciated!

Lue.

You can easily bypass the launcher completely:

Follow Step 4 (EQHost File) and Step 5 (Creating a Shortcut) on the EQEmu site. Once you do those two things you can just click the EQ shortcut on your desktop to launch Project99 and bypass the EQEmuLauncher completely:

Quote:
Step 4 - EQHost File
In order for your client to connect to the EQEmulator Login Server (and not SOE's EQLive Login Server), you will need to change your eqhost.txt file to point at the correct location. Go into your EverQuest directory and locate the eqhost.txt file. Replace the contents of the file with the following (Remove any trailing spaces):

Titanium or Secrets of Faydwer:
[LoginServer]
Host=eqemulator.net:5998

Seeds of Destruction/Underfoot:
[LoginServer]
Host=eqemulator.net:5999

Step 5 - Creating Shortcut
Now, you will need to create a shortcut to launch EverQuest and bypass the EQLive patcher (if this step is not taken, you will launch the patcher and overwrite the EQHost.txt file that you just modified, making you connect to the global EQLive Login Server). To do this, go into your EverQuest directory. Locate the EQGAME.EXE file. Right-click on the file and select "Create Shortcut." You can rename this shortcut and drag it anywhere you'd like (most people like to put it on their desktop). Now, right-click that shortcut and select Properties. In the target box, you will see the path to the eqgame.exe file. We need to edit this so that it will pass an argument to that executable when the shortcut is launched. At the end of the text box (after any parentheses), add "patchme" (no quotes). Your target box should look similar to this:

"C:\Program Files\Everquest\eqgame.exe" patchme

Or if you do not have spaces in the path, it will look like this without quotes:

C:\Everquest\eqgame.exe patchme
The Launcher patches files in every time you use it [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] so I don't bother with it until patch day (and even then I tend to manually rename old files and zip the new ones in).

Default How I got EQEmulator working

The problem for me what that the program is attempting to go to eqemulator.com, when it needs to goto eqemulator.NET, so what I did was tell my computer to goto eqemulator.net whenever anything tries to go to eqemulator.com. You do this by adding the following line to your hosts file in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc.

67.23.190.71 eqemulator.com

just open it with notepad, (not MS Word or anything like that, it's just a text file)
and add that line at the bottom, it's the IP address of eqemulator.net and will go there from now on.

From that point everthing just worked fine for me.

When I try to edit my eqhost file, it says that access is denied. Is there a way around this?

1) make sure eq isn't running, that'll block access
2) click start > type 'notepad' > right click on notepad and select 'run as administrator > go to file/open > navigate to eq directory and select/open eqhost.txt

If you require assistance with the launcher, you can either click the feedback-button (which will not work if moestaverne.com is down :/) or just send me a mail to moe@moestaverne.com and ill try to help
