View Full Version : Spells: Rune Issues

On second thought figured i'd list all the issues i currently see with rune in one thread.

1. Spell direct damage doesn't get shielded against, this is different to what i remember where a nuke or using a manastone would take dmg from the rune before going to your hp. Dots however i recall going straight for HP.

2. Interrupts, as mentioned previously if you had rune and a mob beating on you, provided bash didn't land you'd cast through virtually anything. Whilst runed you would be impervious to push from mobs etc.

3. Whilst runed, if you have a damage shield up, it doesn't seem to trigger when a mob hits you. This definitely isn't how i remember it as i remember PLing people using this method.

These are how i remember it being, i could be wrong etc

I know enchanter DS works with our Berserker spells, or at least it did last time I was buffing lowbies.

As far as I know rune should be working the same way with regards to this. If it's not then it's definitely a bug.

bump, tried feedback whilst using berserker spirit, was sitting when the mob was hitting me and no dmg shield dmg was given to the mob.

Last time I messed around with this (maybe a couple weeks ago?) When I was rune'd mob were still not taking damage from my damage shield.

EDIT: Actually I was buffing a lowbie while camping Chancellor on Saturday and I'm pretty sure once I runed him my feedback was no longer doing damage.

DS will be triggered while runed, pending update. Other issues have been fixed a while.

since when was that classic? I would love to have ds while runed, but I definitely remember that DS would not trigger when the rune was still on your character.

Where is the proof that it should be otherwise?

I play an enchanter and this would be a beneficial change, but I cannot agree that it was classic at all.

It's up to you to provide contrary evidence, not the devs. But either way you're wrong:

Ok, i read some of the other posts and i see a lot of ppl saying the only drawback is the componant... the damn thing only costs 2gp!! yer lvl 16 for christs sake, breeze can bring ya in 3pp easy each time. I for one love the rune seires, while u wont take DMg for the hit(s) a DMG sheild will still do the damage when if would've hit u.... it's really a great line of spells, sine our pets r weaklings (when it comes to hp and AC... i know they are damage machines), it can give ya a little extra time to fear the mob for a reverse kite... something you should be doin if u cant get a group

Also apparently rune V should have a level requirement?

OK nothing hits for 500 in a single blow, maybe dragons but not normal monsters at this lvl, ive been going into the hole alot lately for raids and the most the monsters have hit someone for in a chain of all their attacks is maybe 300, assuming its not a channeler or other casting elemental.... overall this spell is useless around this level, it would be good to PL newbies... alas it is impossible to cast it on them

Rune V can only be cast on 39+ folk!
