My grandma used to say a few things that have stuck with me into my mid-to-late thirties:
1) nobody wants to talk about the weather. If someone brings it up, check your pockets.
2) if you find someone reminding you of the same thing, it’s because it’s not true
And, 3)if you find yourself dubious of intentions, always ask yourself, “Who has more to lose by not lying?”
