Questions about server future

As a newbie to this server (Been here since mid April), I can honestly say I haven't had too much difficulty finding groups. Yes, there are sometimes people who PL in Unrest, or Mistmoore, etc, and usually they are yelled at by the people who are actually in the zone leveling by groups.. a small zone like Unrest can't handle a 50+ druid PLing someone AND regular groups.

Yes, I agree with the low levels with epic situation, but that is due to the sever being stuck in Kunark since 2010, and on Live we were only in Kunark for what? 10 months? I started at the end of Kunark, so I don't remember. Velious will shift some of the focus away from farming epic MQ's.

Personally, I would rather farm the Paw of Opolla myself, as I'm actually doing.. just need the Guk Weed off Mutant (Stupid ultra rare drops /grumble) and I'll be through with the drops. Some things I have bought for my chars, but the questable stuff I've done myself or with another helping (Cleric quest armor; Necro quest boots, gloves, Harvester..) I enjoy questing. It's the reason it took me a year to get my first character on live to level 52.

You can't please everyone. While you want 'improved' functionality away from classic I recently deleted my characters because as much as I try the classic experience can't really be found on P1999 imo.

With respect and applause to Rogean and everyone else who put in the effort to get P1999 up and running the game is ruined by people who join without any regard for what the server is supposed to represent and offer (classic EQ).

The Everquest experience revolved around grouping, group play, grinding, horrid death penalties including corpse runs and XP loss but the server is full of people who try to avoid those things at all costs.

Despite being an enchanter I have yet to find any real groups on the server. Go to any low to mid level zone and you'll find a couple of low levels twinked out being PL'd by a high level player. If there is a group it'll be a guild group being power leveled by a guild high level player. Theres no use spending 50 hours camping a mid level item like Paw of Opolla when I can farm some pp easily and buy it in 10 hours.

I saw a level 6 running around the other day epicced, seen quite a few level 1's to 10 with epics. In all my years on original EQ I never once saw low levels running around with epic though I played on Firiona Vie (no high level farming green mobs for lore items) so maybe why.

While you are thinking too hard, and too harsh, in my mind the experience is ruined by being wow style way too easy due to high level PL.

dude are you nuts? I started playing 1 month ago, and dude, the feels.. its awesome! I have NEVER had a problem finding a group. Like are you, like walking into a zone, shouting CAN I HAZ GRUP? then zoning out if you dont get one in like 1 minuet? dude sit, sit and stare at the classic poly's, youll get a group. it just takes 10 minuets.. besides that's how long it took in classic. Seriously its lols when I hear peopel say they cant get a group, any zone has like 12 people in it at all times except maybe runneye... take your friends to that one.

Grouping is insanely popular in this game lol, maybe you're playing on red.. I dont know what youre doing wrong but man, this game is classic and AWESOME

*Edit* also, The epics, who cares? just enjoy the game, if you dont like groupign with people with epics, that is just wierd.. like dude wut? how does that effect you? You cant twink a lowbie out to be indestructable like you could in live, you can twink them out to have decent mid level gear though, but seriously does it matter? like the +150 Hp's they're getting could possibly be game breaking.

there are people that are good at eq, i for one am playing it the way I wish I could back in the day, as in kicking ass and getting fat lewt and enjoying the hell out of norrath while i ram my boot up its backside.

Also people who powerlevel for the most part are suuuuper respectful of other people, if you talk to them instead of maybe, /t redcondruid 'hey asshole stop training us' they'll be like 'oh hey sorry! yea I'll move!'

Seriously if you're not having fun on this server, you either hate EQ or have internet social problems, I'm sorry to be so blunt but DONT TALK SHIT ABOUT THIS GAME OR BOOT IN BACKSIDE

Seriously you should just give it time, grouping takes time, its hard and you have to be committed, you cant quit if your group wipes 2-3 times trying to get set up, you have to stick to it, you have to tell people when and how long youre playing, and if you leave, you should try to find a replacment as you get higher in levels. EQ is a game that's all about what you put into it.

He plays during Australian times. EQ is a different beast at 4 in the morning EST.

Yea true, I realised he was Australian and felt so guilty for calling him nuts, cus I <3 Australia (and he could probubly punch my head off irl) hence all the edits.

One thing I did once was /ooc lfg in EC and we put one together there and traveled to the perfect location. I wish that was culturally the norm for finding a group. Make it so!

Also I chose a class that could solo, because not knowing how dense the population would be I never wanted to be stuck not able to do anything. I suggest giving a class that's soloable a shot.

Not sure why someone would see a name like Project 1999 and feel that it should be a more modernized version of eq. Says right on the main page that the intent of the project is to keep the classic feel of eq from 99-2000 era.

I don't mind at all the very slow xp as it was, but please, corpse runs for level 1, 2, and 3's? When or if this changes, I may come back. I can't get past level 3 w/o losing my corpse and my only dagger. And yes, I know how to /L.

If P1999 will play as the original game did when LDoN and PoP is released on the server, I will come back and have a great time. That is when I started originally in EQ. Forgive me, but I cannot get into P1999 as is. I guess I may have never played EQ if they didn't progress and improve the game.

I do salute P1999. It's just too early on the server for me to start. I miss general chat which is a must for new players.

Hi welcome to Project 1999, don't let the door hit your constipated Luclin model's arse on the way out.

For people actually reading this far, groups are very easy to find if you play American/European primetime. I play PST as a chanter and get tells across zones even when I try to solo. For Asian/Australian primetime, I would go into the Guild subforum and try to find an Oceanic (or even Asian!) guild.
