yes but if he was bugged i don't think he would have showed up on a /w all <name> command or am i wrong?

No, he would. This happened to me two nights ago. My group cleric Verenity was displayed as 'out of group' - I couldn't see him in the zone at all (his character or /who), but he registered on a /who all and it said he was in the same zone as me.

Had to camp out to fix it.
